Les arcs

Les Arcs ski resort is situated in the middle of the Tarentaise valley, surrounded by the nearby resorts of Meribel, Courchevel, Val Thorens, Val d'Isere and Tignes.  It is linked to La Plagne creating the Paradiski domain, by the Vanoise Express cable car, which opens up an enormous 425km of pisted ski area begging to be explored!

Les Arcs is the perfect ski resort if you are looking for convenience.  Due to its purpose built nature, the slopes, bars and restaurants are never too far away.  Les Arcs is made up of four small village resorts, all with their own character and feel.  Arc 1800 is renowned for its lively atmosphere, where as Arc 2000 is perfectly positioned next to the piste to offer easy snow sure ski access. 1950 is the newest of the four, but has the more traditional and rustic feel, and lastly 1600 has a village feel and has even been classified as a heritage site.

Skiing and Boarding in Les Arcs

Les Arcs is able to offer some awe-inspiring skiing for all abilities. Skiing in Les Arcs offers 200km of pistes (105 pistes in total) and within the whole Paradiski area (which combines Les Arcs and La Plagne) there is a massive 425km.  It is the perfect place for mixed ability groups. The runs vary from woody runs in lower areas to glacier skiing on the Aiguille Rouge. Underneath the cable car which takes you to the Glacier, those more advanced skiers are able to find some steeps and couloirs to enjoy.

Les Arcs has firm roots in snowboarding and continues to offer plenty of terrain to ride.  The snow park and half pipe in Les Arcs are enough to satisfy most freestyle types, and the natural layout of the mountain gives those searching for air some great natural opportunities to get it.

Apres ski in les arcs

Les Arcs offers the chance to Speed Fly, which is skiing with a specific sail that allows you to carve powder and then take to the air.  It is a perfect experience for any adrenalin junkie!  Any reasonably competent skier can try their hand at Speed Flying.  Les Arcs also has floodlit skiing, an ice rink, ski biking, snow shoeing, husky rides and even helicopter tours.

Although each small village resort within Les Arcs has its own restaurants and bars, Arc 1800 is the best place to find a wide choice of cuisine. You will be able to find meat and cheese fondues, grills, pizzerias and for more gastronomic meals try Chez Eux.
As for the nightlife in Les Arcs, both Arc 2000 and 1800 have places to let your hair down.  In Arc 2000 try pubs like Whislters Dream, or to catch the sport or to do a spot of Karaoke try The Crazy Fox.  The liveliest place which is open late and sometimes has live bands is the El Latino Loco. For a taste of Euro pop and zebra covered booths be sure to check out KL92 the only club in 2000.  Arc 1800 is by far the livelier area in Les Arcs.  It has a square dedicated to bars and clubs. For live bands and a lot of fun you should spend some time in Benjis or Red Hot Saloon.  For a typical English club it will have to be Apocolypse.
